Post by danger »

the fuel gauge on my gq sits well below 0 and wont move even with a full tank.
i pulled the sender out and it all looks good. with the sender out i turned the ignition on and moved the sender float up and down but the gauge dident move.
is there any way to test the sender with out a multimeter.
how can i test the gauge

Both my petrol wagon and diesel ute did this. Checked the sender with a voltmeter and it was fine, traced it back and somewhere from the wiring plug under the passenger seat to the sender there was a break in the wire. Cut the wire and put a new one in running it through the conduit with the rest of the harness. I only had red wire and was too lazy to get anything else so I made note of it in the wiring section of the manual.

im sure thats the biggest let down of GQs, broken wiring, ive had nothing but dramas with broken wires and dodgy cabling/door open sensors etc. gotta be the one thing nissan didnt over engineer and it really shits me.
