Rav4 economy

Post by evanstaniland »

Hey peoples,

my old man has a rav4 its a 2000 model 4 door, its got 125,000Kms on the clock and its got the 2.0L 4cyl engine and its getting about 15L/100kms.
he said its getting worse economy than his prado its 14L/100Kms and its a 1999 3.4 V6 with 300,000 on the colck.

has anyone else had similar economy figures? are they all so shit on fuel?

cheers in advance

Evan

I haven't had any direct experience, but I have heard some terrible figures bandied around about fuel consumption. My wife wanted one, but I think I'd rather buy her an 80 series turbo diesel. Better car, better on fuel.

I know about three people with RAVs and they all complain about crap fuel figures....although 15/100 seams high.

The 'cruiser forum talks about getting about 12L/100, but figures of 17/100 loaded on trips, or 15/100 in traffic.

Thirsty for a small car!
