Hi all.
I'm just finishing up a rebuild on a 1980 hj47 cruiser that has the running gear out of a hj75 in it. The original alt was externally regulated and the new one is internally regulated. I know I'm going to have to fit an alt light to it, but how do i go about wiring it all up
Edit; New alt has three wires coming off it ,orange, white and blue. The plug on the loom has white with black trace (earth) and then a white wire with blue trace and white with green trace
Link to hj47 wiring diagram if it helps

Any help appreciated
Thanx Steve

Re: Later internaly regulated alt to hj47 ?
Ok.
So i have been out in the shed playing around with this. And the filter light in the dash has been staying on when the truck is running. I pulled the filter off and cleaned it out, tested the switch and re-bled the fuel system and the light still stays on.
The alt i have on the truck at the moment is the original externally regulated hj47 one, which is faulty. Only puts out 12.3 volts (i'm waiting on the alt we will be using to come back from being tested)
I noticed on the wiring diagram that one of the wires in the loom runs from the external reg to the switch on the filter. so does the filter light also act as an alt light. and if so can i use it as the exciter for the internally regulated alt. And how would i go about it?
Confused. I am
I should probably add that truck has a later 81 model loom
Truck in question
This the only thing holding us up after a 13mth ground up rebuild
Cheers Steve

I'm sorry that nobody here was able to help. Is there any chance you could summarise the solution, for the next poor bugger?
