Ford dual stage thermo TD42

Post by Signature »

Hey Guys, wrote this up previously but it was lost when the forum went down.
First off,yes I have checked the bible and searched, to no avail. Some good info on the subject, but not exactly what i'm after.

I've picked up some EF/EL thermos to fit to my TD42, and would like to use their dual stage capability. I went with EF/EL as they've got a bit more clearance than the AU and draw the same/similar CFM. Has anyone got any experience with this? I'm wondering weather I could use a dual stage water temp switch (provided I can find one in a suitable temp range) or if I should run two separate switches in the radiator hose. Also, how should I go about wiring this? I've not looked into the harness that comes off of the two plugs yet and i'm unsure how to facilitate the two different speeds. It will be hooked up to an in cab 3 way switch for on-through sensors, hard off, and hard on full speed.
What temperature ranges for various speeds would be recommended?

If it's not able to be facilitated, I'll wire it to a single temp switch.

I'll document this and see if it can get put in the bible if all goes to plan.
