It will be too wet for anything to burn.

oh my tip from last yrs event...
if you leave your helmet in your truck turn it right way up, otherwise in heavy rain it will just fill up with water.
killing your comms and leaving you with a wet head all day. :finger:

despite all the rain , we are still in the fire danger period & NO FIRES are to be allowed at all

last year we had approval for the one fire ( in the paddock where the travel ramp is ) , but this year we have no such approval from the local fire brigade

likewise , if there is any welding to be done , it is to be done on the prepared site just inside the gate where the travel ramp is

Fark that's gonna be cold. Reckon we'll be there late tomorrow night, bailing work at lunch to pick up the new car trailer and fit the new beadlocks

Look out for the two Rangies with the new white paintjob, it won't help us get further up the tracks but you'll be able to see us when we break down :finger:

Well done to Tony & the Canobolas 4WD club for putting on another great event! I left early so no idea on the results. Tracks were pretty tough (especially most of Sat until they dried out a bit), but there was plenty of action all the same. Actually, plenty of action in the camping paddocks that resembled peat bogs  Good entertainment watching the 2wds trying to get out

Here's a few pics from the weekend.

Well Toperi has been run and won for 2011. The boys from shell harbour, Marshall Bell Don Bell and Steven Juarez Peter Townsend got the top prize just in front of the southern tablelands team, which consisted of the Barrett brothers and Rob Biddle, Luke Harris.
Just as soon as I’ve had a chance I’ll post up the rest of the place getters and a list of the results.
A few thankyous’ are in order
The sponsors for 2011 were Tough Dog, Opposite Lock/TJM Orange, Snake racing, Lukeys custom 4x4, K&A 4wd wreckers Orange and Coates Hire.
Thanks to the competitors for being understanding for the slow start on Saturday morning while we tried to sort the access road in to Toperi, the rain in the week leading up was unnecessary and the two inches Friday night was just plain cruel.
Thanks to the competitors for being a bunch of good sports all weekend. I personal didn’t hear of any dramas what so ever.
Big thanks to the competitors and the campers for leaving Toperi Park as they found it.
To Tony and Penny Richards for the use of their property, most of the paddocks look like there was a 4wd comp held in them not just the one we used for the comp.
And finally to the members of the Canobolas 4wd club, without the many hours of volunteering the Toperi Challenge would not exist.
Hope to see you all next year.
Cheers

Well done to - the canobalas club for this great event , kieren my new navi , mat and nathan borg for great team mates , the Blue Mountains 4wd Club for letting me run , and all the spectators for there cheers and great support .
would be great to see more competitors hang around for presentation , so the people who win have someone to stand up in front of .....

And finally all the competitors for having fun !

Well myself and Dave (80s delirious) went out there for a look today. Had a fantastic time catching up with people and met heaps of new people. It was great to be there and really get some fresh motivation and ideas for my build. Thanks to the Canobolis guys for putting on a great show. From everyone I spoke to today, both competitors and spectators, had an awesome time.

A huge thanks to the Canobalas Club for again putting on a great event, all the other teams and spectators for just making it a top place to wheel. A big thanks to Tony for hooking me up with Ken and my rear axle that helped keep Shellharbour 4x4 Club running and the rest of our Team be it on the tracks, tools or the grog.

See you all there next year

A huge thanks to the Canobalas Club and Tony for use of Toperi park. And putting on an awesome event. The tracks are getting a lot harder. Also the competitors are driving exceptionally well.

Congrats to the winners,

Traction 4 will be back again but we will hopefully do better next time. But I know we had a ball.

I think this should be held twice a year. Once is just to long to wait.

Regards
Mitch
