stock link lengths?

Post by georgey »

Hey

im doing a 4link on a mini truck for airbags.
Wanted to know how long are patrol and landcruiser upper and lower rear control arms?
Are there any other stock arms that are fairly long?they dont need to be over 1m long because they dont move much but dont want the diff moving.
I know 4runner arms are rediculously short so theyre out.

cheers
Justin

if its a 4link on a mini truck the links wouldnt need to be long as its not designed to "flex"

I think what he's saying is he doesn't want the diff to move forwards and backwards much when he raises and lowers his airbags.
I think a stock patrol lower is around 700mm

Patrol or Jackaroo use quite long lowers.

You could always use something really cheap like commonwhore rear panhard rods.

Why a 4 link?
What about Pajero rear radius arms and panhard?

Panhard will make the diff move sideways as it goes up and down also.

I think 80series lower links are about 800mm.
Will be under my cruiser tommorow, will try to remember to measure them for you.

cheers for the measurements boys.
Yeah they dont need to be mega long 500-700 would be plenty.
Dont want to use a panhard, will be putting a single tri 4link in it.
The maximum i want the diff to move is around 10mm.

Thinking of calling the engineer to see about tubing the rear instead of using a notch, would be alot easier, have heard of 'truggies' being engineered and it would look better.
