80 series diesel fuel system

Post by chiso92 »

hello, iv just pulled out the main tank in my 80, in the process of taking off the rubber hose that connects from the tank to the steel filler pipe, iv managed to snap a hose off what looks like to be a little electric fuel pump or something....

it has a electrical clip with a hose connecting from the top of the tank, then runs through this little pump looking thing the leads up to the engine bay. i wouldnt have a clue what it is called or what it does, my guess is an electric pump???????

does anyone kno wat it is??
cheers

my guess is it is the main tank > sub tank solinoid. When you press the sub tank button on the dash teh solinoid kicks in and flips over between the two.

The diesel 80 series only has one fuel pump, and just changes its drawing location.... (conversely, the petrol 80 series has a pump inside the sub that transfers the fuel into the main).
indubitably
