Anybody know anything about 32/36 webers
As as mine is broken,it is throwing fuel down the guts like a top fuel motor.
I have tried
Carb cleaner,
Smaller jets,
Bigger jets,
Adjusted the flot to what the book says
Put a new kit through it ,
And its still doing it
Its flooding the 1600 motor, i have tried asking the carb place.All i got is bring it over with 400 bucks and we will fix it The next step is buy a new one from the states 199 usd +shipping

In a "Production Jetting Table" he lists the following for a 32/36 DGAV on a Cortina 1600:
Primary venturi 26mm
Secondary venturi 27mm
Aux Venturi 3.50
Emulsion tube F50
Main Jet 1.35
Air Correction 1.70
Idle Jet 0.55
Pump jet 0.55
Needle Valve 2.00
On the line that lists the size of the secondary venturi, the table also lists the following:
Emulsion tube F6
Main Jet 1.45
Air Correction 0.70
Idle Jet 0.45
Make of that what you will!

Those webers are good stuff and very reliable.
They are easy to pull right down and put back together too.
Strip it down and clean it up in acrylic general purpose thinner and blow down with compressed air, check the parts are as per the book and nothing blocked or worn (or butchered by a previous owner). Blocked emulsion tubes can make the mixture very rich.
Also if the needle and seat is worn and the fuel level could be getting too high (even if the float is set right)
The accelerator pumps are awesome on these too, check it is not missing any parts or is worn as they can pump down a heap of fuel

Is it actually flooding or just running rich?
If it is flooding, replace the needle & seat. Sometimes if it is worn then no amount of adjustment on the float will stop it.

have you checked the fuel pressure? From memory they only like around 4.5psi, anything more pushes past the needle and seat

How's your fuel pressure. When I had a DCD I was told the needle valve isn't too strong, and excess fuel pressure can cause the bowl to overflow (have NFI if this is really true). I think I was told 4.5psi max pressure at the carb inlet pipe.

Wont really need to as its quick to clean. However if you have something real nasty and need to soak you will need to put it in an air tight container as the thinners evaporates.boner59 wrote:Thanks clanky.

Careful with the plastics too as they may not like the thinners. I havent had an issue in the past, but best to be careful.

A brand new needle and seat can leak.
The machining finish can let fuel leak past, and sometimes you need to give them a bit of a rub with some fine emery tape.

remove the top and gently blow through the fuel inlet and lift the float to see how high it is. also check the surfaces are not warped slightly.

Was it running ok previously? If so it's more than likely a blockage somewhere or fuel pressure is too high (About 3 psi is fine).

This is probably a good starting point but every engine is different.
