BJ73 rim options, perhaps a hub or axle mod?

Post by robertbruce »

Does anyone know, remember or a good guess would do, as to what rim options are available for a 1985 BJ73 Mid-Wheel Base, 3.4 Diesel?

Currently has J16X5.50 SDC 6 Stud Rims with LT225x85X16 Tyres and am very happy to stay skinny 16 LT's.

2005 Hilux Rims J16X6J 6RNO5 will not fit on the front, the offset binds the steering arm, ball joint etc...
A one inch spacer would sort it, but I'm not comfortable going that path...

Im really hoping that one of the model ranges of hilux's rims suits because they seem to be a lot of them about...

225/85R16? Thats a bit of an oddball size, you sure they're not 235/85R16? that'd be more common.

Rim options are basically the same as any other early 70 series cruiser, so FJ75/HJ75/FZJ75/HZJ75 ute or troopcarrier.
