SSS - New 6 day event 2012

Post by SSS Winch Challenge »

SSS 6 day 4 x 4 Extreme

I am starting a new 6 day event next year. It will be a family orientated event (ie camping with families etc). Still working through all the details
at the moment but will keep you all up to date as more information comes to hand.

Dates for the event are Sunday 4 March to Saturday 10 March 2012.

We will be based at Landcruiser Mountain Park but will be using surrounding properties as well.

Nomination fee is $1400 for driver and navigator only or $1650 for driver, navigator and immediate family (ie wife/partner and children). This includes camping and mid week meal for driver and navigator and their immediate family (ie. partners and children).

We require 15 cars minimum for this event.

A deposit of $400 is required with your nomination but deposits will be returned if the event is cancelled due to lack of interest.

The event will consist of winch, GPS and speed stages. The SSS Winch Challenge Rules and Regulations 2012 will be used for this event.

The format will be:

2 stages Sunday night
6 stages Monday
6 stages Tuesday
3 stages Wednesday
6 stages Thursday
6 stages Friday
Presentation Saturday morning

Mid week meal (Wednesday) for competitors and families - catered for.

We are currently looking for sponsors and officials for this event so if you are interested please email ssswinch@gmail.com or phone me on 0439 885
807 after 6pm week days and anytime on the weekend.

Nomination forms and 2012 Rules and Regulations will be available on the new website soon (currently under construction).

Cheers

Stirlo

I'm not going to say that I will he attending this event (because everytime I do something comes up and I can't make it and look like I just talk it up on the net :bad-words: )

BUT this event sounds awesome! With the weekends spare to travel to and from and the plans to make it a family friendly event I think you are onto a winner!! And hopefully I will finally be able to come down and play at a SSS event :D

Gudge and the boys saw the stages and were impressed. There was plenty of drive time and good walls and stages in a normal round so 6 day event will be unreal. I would like to see a navi race at the end of 6 days to see who still has it. So get your noms in CQ boys. This will be good and challenging.

On the first post it says minimum of 15 teams, so far from what I've seen is there's 9 teams already nominated with one more definateS yet to nominate?

Has the event been advertised anywhere othere then Outers and Facebook?

And Is there any potential media coverage locked in? I've heard a whisper one of the outdoors style tv shows may be involved?

This event is definitely on and the maximum vehicles would be 50.

We would appreciate nominations to be in and paid by 17 February for catering purposes. If you are still unsure by this date please ring Stirlo on 0439 885 807.

The event has been advertised in Dirt Comp and am waiting for a reply from Simon from 4wd TV.

Stirlo has also been talking to the guys from Creek to Coast again and Roothy from 4wd Action is definitely on board for this event.

We are in discussions at the moment regarding dvd coverage and also photos.

At this stage Gudge and I are 80% definately coming! As for the others it's a range of excuses :D from not being sure if they can get time off their new job, or engines being blown up and not sure if they'll be fixed in time, then there's a couple tight asses not willing to pay nom fee's or they are taking a week off work to come down and watch but to scared to bring their rigs..... You know the usuall bunch of excuses

And You'd think Brent from Mackay or Hi Dee hoe would head on down! Could organise three rigs to cover fuel costs of micks semi! Will just have to wait and see I guess!

Gudge is getting the Bear Gryll's treatment! Haha

as for the pink ladies AKA"TNT" I think it's a mixture of fear and the navi being to slow :D
