hilux rear axle bearing cap

Post by Ridge »

Probably a stupid question but anyway,
Does the rear axle bearing cap on a hilux use studs or bolts to fix it in position.
If they are studs, does anyone have the part number?

They are studs with a 'splined' surface where they sit in the housing (hammered or pressed in). One of them is special with a raised end that sticks out and is used for the pivot of the adjustment arm for the drum brakes in a lux.

Part numbers are in this link: http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_G_1994_T ... _4706.html

If you look at the build thread in the link below you can see them clearly in a few of the pics - the guy was changing bearings and installing disc brakes in his build thread and took good photo's.
