RFC Australia - Now XI RFC

Post by XTREME MMM »

Just returned from RFC China and have been given approval to use the RFC name.

This will be held at Landcruiser Mountain Park, Jimna, Queensland.

It will be held over 8 days, starting on Saturday 22nd September & finishing on Saturday 29th September.

Entry fee $1500

Catering will be available if needed. Families are more then welcome with only Park fee's to pay.

Major prize (draw* conditions will apply) is an entry to the real RFC in Malaysia, container & 2 airfares.

There will also be available reduced entry fee and cheaper container for 2 other Teams available.

Be aware that your vehicle will require a Carnet to leave and come back into the country if you win the draw.

Rules would be the same as the Xtreme Winch Challenge Rules.

Please drop me a line if you are interested.

Cheers

Obviously the stages of the overseas events can't be replicated, so what type of format will the Australian event have?
Will it be confined to a single property? Or possibly move from one venue to another?

Or hasn't any of this been completely figured out yet?

Does sound like an awesome prize!!

Hi,

Venue/venues are still to be decided. It will have to be attractive to all that want to compete.

As we do not have what is available in Malaysia (Transport sections) it will be based around our known winch challenge format with a couple of extras tossed in.

As far as not being figured out, what is the difference between this and a weekend event, I think after running the XWC and putting on several 8 day events this will be easy.

But the big thing to make this work is competitors support.

Sponsors are already being approached now also.

The idea will be that everyone walks away with something at the end of the event, same as what happened at the XI.

I could have quite easy added a day to the event and called it the XI with the same type of prizes but by coming back to 7 days and having the use of RFC name it was the perfect chance to promote the real RFC.

Keep in mind that this will need the support of Sponsors & Competitors for this to happen.

Cheers

Thank you for your reply, when I said "haven't figured that out" I didn't mean that you haven't already thought of/ carried out the different scenarios of multiple properties/ one large property, and trying to have something thrown in that makes the event a stand out like Malaysia or one of the other countries which already host a RFC,
but was just wondering if certain pieces of land have already been added to a short list, or if it's still open to finding the best suited location?

And how many teams will be able to enter? The fields at MRFC are quite large aren't they? Or is it more support vehicles then actual competitors

Cheers James

Hi, thanks for the comments.

Venues are still being hashed around in my head. Please let me know if there is anything that might be good.

China RFC had around 26 vehicles and a lot of support vehicles.

Malaysia RFC has 25 plus entrants and a bloody lot of Official, Press & support vehicles during the event. I would hate to say how many there were in the convoy last year.

One thing to keep in mind on venues is that the closer they are to a major city where the sponsors will get max coverage the better.

Thanks Damo & Sandy, name is down.

You are our 3nd sponsor. Xtreme 4x4 Sport was the second and RFC Malaysia was the first.

Mate anything is possible at the moment for venues, thanks for the suggestions.

It looks like we may have RFC Australia. :) :) :) :)

Just a very quick update on where this is going:-

One Major sponsor meeting this coming Tuesday.

Tamworth area is looking very good for a venue. If this is chosen it will have one moving camp at the end of the week.

I am off to Mother RFC on the 28th November, so will add more info as it becomes known.

Cheers

Good to see, it will be September/October and depending on Sponsors it may also include the last Round of XWC.

More on this later.

Due to a lot of little things and the logestics of the whole thing, it will be held at Landcruiser Mountain Park.

Please look under the XI RFC thread for more updates as they become available.
