diff bracing pics

Post by unmass »

Hey guys I'm in the middle of bracing my gu front diff. But would like to see some pics of front diff lamination and gussets.

Also what can be done to protect rear diff also.

Any suggestions would be great.

I will post pics when I'm finished

Regards
Mitch

This is the neatest one that I have seen, nice and compact. The owner doesn't have any info about it, it was done before he bought it.
Does anyone know what kit this is?

Yeh that's a pretty good kit. I was going to go superior but found a race bred 4x4 kit for $145 delivered.

Includes top truss, knuckle gussets, drain plug protector, control arm mount gussets, controls arm weld on washers, a triangle plate to weld to the passengers side of pumpkin where the welds crack and also a pumpkin plate. Was a lot of gear and cheap.

Ill post pics when I'm in front of computer.

It's protection not bracing dude. No it's absorbent, needs changing after every run tho!

Can you please post pic looking down from the top when its done. So you can see how far it sticks out. Cheers

Thats fine, I just want pic a guard fitted, looking down from the top.

Diff can be in or out of the car doesn't matter.

Thanks for pics Wicked.

Its hard to tell from those pic. Do you think the Buds one is closer fit and would have better clearance for the panhard? Compared to a superior diff guard.

I filled in the gap that was left between the pumpkin & plate with sickaflex, to make it a sealed unit.(I didnt want dirt, mud & sh!t jamed in behind it)
I went for a wheel the other day, I wish I had the orange pig back already.

I'll ask for that gap to be welded.
