Hi all, im back after a few years on the sidelines.. To get right to it, im in the process of purchasing a swb coil sierra with a blown motor - no biggie. I have an M16A Swift Sports engine available to purchase and am wondering the possiblity of fitting it into the sierra's engine bay, i realise theres some work involved aswell as money & time but i have all of those on tap so to speak.
My questions are:
Has anyone tried this?
Is it a worthwhile mod?
My sierra will be a daily ride and i think the 100kW 160Nm donk will make it alot of fun haha
Your opinions are appreciated, cheers everyone

Cheers Drew

Re: M16A conversion into a Sierra
Thanks Drew, at the moment im leaning towards an M15A 1.5 from a current swift, cheap motor at $400-$600 better fuel economy while still giving 75Kw 133Nm.. M16A is 100Kw 160Nm engine costs around $1500..
So no my research is into an M15A at the moment.. seems like the better option fuel wise..

Re: M16A conversion into a Sierra
i think the biggest issue is the immobiliser - most that have done it have cable tied the key etc from the donor car to the computer so its constantly un-immobilised. Suzistore here in Perth were trying to sort it out "properly" but i dont think they ever found the time to nut it out properly.
IMO - if you're going to the effort of an M-series conversion, go the 1.8 =) lol might as well!
