MOSFET control box for Warn Highmount?

Has anyone used Warn's MOSFET control box on their Highmount?
I've got a sticky solenoid in my control box and looking for a better alternative.
The MOSFET one looks like a go'er as they are solid state, but I haven't found a price yet and I can't imagine it being cheap.
What other alternatives are there to the standard solenoids?

I'm not a fan of solid state power relays, as I've experienced trouble in the past when some failed short-circuit. That can happen with mechanical relays too (contact weld) but I've never experienced that, so I tend to ignore it.

Solid state devices have their application, but I'm not sure a winch is it. I believe winch solenoid problems are caused by mud ingress (could be wrong...) so I would put some effort into decent protection of the solenoids before going to MOSFETs.

They use IGBT's and MOSFETS in extremely high poered stuff now, the massive haul trucks that are electric motor drive use parallellled IGBT's to drive them (PWM for speed control)

The only reason all winch controllers are not FET or IGBT controlled is cost, mechanical relays(solenoids) are still significantly cheaper to produce.

but reliability, and efficiency is far superior with a solid state option, aslong as it is designed well.

Where do you get the Albright solenoids from?

I swapped for the standard Tigerz solenoids and they have lasted three times as long so far under $100 these days.

Under $100 for a set, I bought some for a customers crusier ute about two months ago from someone in victoria he was on ebay too from memory.
