arb steel non winch bar
ive got a steel arb bar on my 4runner, i was wondering if its possible to cut holes in it so i can put a winch in there? do i need to do anything other than cut gaps in it?
Re: arb steel non winch bar
i had a hole cut in mine a while ago it WASNT BRACED worked ok but every 2 or 3 months it was go threw tighten up all mounting bolt into the chassis because the worked loose
if its a heavy vechicle i wouldnt recomend it
I have seen 1 cut and braced and it performed exactly the same as a winch bar and was solid wouldnt flex or bend.
i dont remember how it was braced sorry

Re: arb steel non winch bar
mine is a tjm non winch bar and i modified it to fit my winch and it works great have winched up decent hills and the bar doesnt move.ill put up photos.
its braced with 12mm steel where the winch bolts to and welded 50mmx6mm angle onto the main bullbar support and also has one welded onto the inside of the top of the bar(where spotlights mount) and also has 6 10x1.5mm thread bolts with big washers and nylock nuts.basically just made it so that whatever i have to winch up the bar wont move cause you dont want to be winching up and have in the back of your mind "wonder if the bar will hold up to this".
