Post by TUFFAS »

Just asking to try and find some info on converting my 96mod 80 series from a 1fz-FE to a 1hz and also adapt 1hz to the auto, has anyOne done this before

it can be done but the performance gain is not worth the money.
minimum would be a factory turbo motor to convert to.
ideal motor is the 1hdfte motor and the 5 speed auto.

I agree with above.
I went from a 1HD-T in my 80 to a 1hzzzzz in my 105series, and it is painfully gutless at times.

I looked at doing this ages ago. You will need a new bellhousing, torque convertor, and the shift patterns are different from what i have been told. As above I wouldn't do it unless it was hdt or better.
