Gu 4.2 diesel power increase???

Post by 8612brenden »

Hi have recently purchased a 2001 gu cab chassis and am looking for a few mods to increase power?? It has a water to air intercooler 2 1/4 inch stainless exhaust at the moment but other wise standard? it has over 200 on the clock and i am not looking to sacrifice longevity? Any obvious mods that i should be thinking of ?? Thanks Brenden

I put a bigger air box on mine and that made a noticable difference and then a 3 inch exhaust..

You need a boost gauge and a Pyro. Then you can start giving it more fuel. Then you will notice a big difference in power.

We did exactly this today for a customer and the difference is night and day. We use beaudesert exhausts systems. Make sure you Replace your fuel filter, adjust/reset your valves and reset your pump timing with the engine stone cold before hitting the Dyno for the best results. If you have some one that knows what they are doing you will honestly gain between 20% to 25% more power and you will be using less fuel.
