Is it more economical to rebuild a double cardan joint or purchase another shaft ...
I am thinking of doing a motor swap in the next 6 to 12 months (18r will be a bit gutless for me I think and I like the ease of service etc on an EFI motor) So that means I will most likely need new length D/shafts in the kinda near future anyways ...
But I couls always retube em for the correct length ...
Advice please ...

they are rebuildable but it's difficult and time consuming, and the parts are a bit expensive. also if the ball/socket are worn you may need to ditch the joint or build it up with weld and machine it back to shape. there are plenty of hilux ones out there that can be had for fairly cheap, save yourself the headache and just buy a couple of hilux shafts and get them made up to the length you need.
