drop boxes would be a bit more complicated as there is nothing flat to bolt to, my a frame is much higher on the diff with the lowers in the same spot, diff sits straight so i think it should be ok but im yet to drive it

when i get my rangie back. i will get you a few detailed photos. it has gu diffs under it. adrian cauchi done a wonderfull job when he built it. it has drop boxes welded to the front and longer arms on the back
there is no such thing as a stupid idea... just a person who owns a rover!!!

I have been working in a Offroad workshop for the last few months and have put drop box's on a few Patrols over the last few weeks and was just wondering if anyone has made a set of these for a Disco front end?

Also looking at the rear end. With a 4" lift on 80 rear end it will almost be at the limits of flex on the factory A-arm. If I was to keep the same separation and north/south axis but move the mount up on the diff would this help? (Was that as clear as mud?)

arghhh, dont you dare talk like that in the rover section!

4" lift? Its not a nissan...
1986 - Stage 1 V8 serIII style side ute - gone
1997 - 300 TDI 130 single cab ute - gone
1986 - 90 defender soft top, bars, buttons and tyres
2000 - TD5 disco 'the boss's rig'

Patrol = im running 6 inch suspension lift 2 inch body lift and my 35s on -44 rims scrape

Its only 2" of spring the other 2" is from the thickness of the bigger diffs and where the new spring seats have to go on the diffs going into it.

I am doing this because I am sick of replacing centers because I drove through a north Qld pothole. and I would like 6 stud patern wheels.

I love my disco but I hate looking at tracks thinking at what point will the diff or axel let go this time.

If you know of a way I can strangthen my diffs without swoping them out that will cost me less then $300 please feel free to let me know. Because this diff swop has cost me $200 so far and all I am missing to do it is a few bushings and the time.
