the way we are looking at it is, a stop is if the vehicle fails to maintain forward or reverse momentum AND when ever the cars wheels come to a halt
EXCESSIVE wheelspin that degrades the track will NOT be tollerated

Each vehicle will have 6 stops per stage & you will be entitled to 1 reverse each time, each stop will be a 5 point penalty, so there is a max of 130 points per stage. We are hoping for a max STOPPED time of 4-5 min per stage, not sure if we will get this approved, otherwise stop time will be at marshal's discretion.
We will run 2 stages on Saturday & 2 stages on Sunday, so everyone will drive stage 4. In the event that we have a tie on points, the tied teams will drive track 4 again until we have a winner.

just a quick question on how do you equalise the field? eg: 37s v's 42s and rear steer, or is it to bad just pick a better line and deal with it
Is there a answer for this?
Cheers brad

Was chatting to Wazza and Tony down at Willowglen about this and the 'stop' rule... they are working through many ideas and scenarios, be patient they'll work it out and let everyone know when it's sorted.

We did say though that driver briefing might have to start at 5am
Cheers, Tony

There will be some sort of formula to even the field ie: 40" tyres minus 1 stop, 42" tyres minus 2 stops, rear steer minus 1 stop. Which would be a big advantage for the cars on 37's, as we will penalize 5 points per stop, if a car on 37's drives a track with no stops he will get 130 points, if a car on 42's drives a track with no stops he will get 120 points. Stage 4 will be the equalizer, where big tyres etc will be a big advantage, there will be lots of team strategy to consider for every stage.
We will post some pics of the new stage 3 soon, I have booked in the good weather this year and this has been confirmed by the big fella

Is a stop when the 1st car stops and waits for the 2nd car to catch up and also if you need a back and fill to get around a corner?
or even stop to let navie hook and unhook the winch (that would be 2 stops)

Or is it only at obstacles for when you cant make it and need to back up and try again?

From reading above it looks like any stopping will be counted as a stop

Hi Guys,
Don't want to hassle, but the more we can clarify this before driver briefing the better .
The stop rule sounds like a good idea , I would just like to clarify if you wait while your navi packs before you attempt an obstacle is that a stop ?
Or is it only a stop if forward progression is lost during an attempt ?
Also if only one of the cars in a team has a mod requiring losing one of their allocated stops is the other car also penalised ?

Thanks guys

This is gonna be an awesome event we cant wait to get into it and see what you guys have done with the tracks.

If you stop so your navi can pack for you = you loosa a stop
if you stop because of excessive wheelspin = you loose a stop
if you stop to wait for your other team mate = you loose a stop
if you stop because you team mate in front is stopped & blocking the track = you loose a stop
if your wheels stop to hook up a tow strap / winch = you loose a stop

this will require that you all use a bit of stragedy .... will the team get more points if you do / dont help your team mate .... which car are you better off using as the lead car etc

remember the car with bigger tyres will have less stops to be able to use up

ie .... drive hard & dont stop till you get to the end & you wont have any probs !!!

If a team turns up with one car fairly standardish car & one madly modified car ( big tyres / rear steer )
Then that standard car will have max stops allocated for each track
The modified car will have a lesser amount of stops avaliable for it to use up ( max stops less handicap penalties )
its not the team that gets penalized the handicap stops its just that one car

but remember if the car with less stops goes first & uses all his stops up it will be out at that point & the other car will have to get around it whilst remaining in the track without using up all its avaliable stops

the vehicle will be deemed out when - if say that vehicle was allocated 5 stops for the track , it can use those 5 stops up , but will be called out once the vehicle stops for its 6th time

will make for some good spectating wont it !!! :finger:

the only time you wont be penalized a stop is when you stop to unhook a tow strap, or stop to unhook a winch rope

& you will only be allowed to tow / winch over one obstacle at a time ... then you unhook to proceed

Last year on event 4 most people had to winch the whole length of the first hill over multiple obstacles. If you apply the above ruling thats probably going to use allowable every stop.

yes that was last year ....... this year the tracks have been changed somewhat

if you need to winch up multiple obstacles on the first hill on track 4 this year , then you best go park it back on the trailer before you even start :finger:

If you stop to hook up a tow strap you loose a stop before you hook up but not for unhooking the strap so does that mean to use a strap is one stop out of both truck's stops?

If you need to attach a strap I would assume that the 2nd car is stuck and has already incurred a stop penalty
I think the lead car would incur a stop penalty whilst attaching the strap .
So I would think in order to attach a strap both cars would incur a stop penalty.

 Awesome the rules are out.Rules should have the drivers DRIVE the obstacles and not crawl slow and risk using a stop.
It will be great viewing when the cars get to there last stop and have to use the skinny pedal.

Wonder how many cars are going to push each other so they dont use STOPS?????. Take your lights out boys and girls. We dont want the navies getting cut and injured.
