Hi,
My GQ has grown some terrible squeaks and groans from both sides of the dash, apparently near where the dash meets the A pillar. I can't see anything loose and I've tried large volumes of WD40 without success.
I couldn't be the only one with this problem! Anyone got a fix before I go crazy?

Bad GQ dash squeaks
Re: Bad GQ dash squeaks
Nice big mandrel bent exhaust without a muffler does the trick.
but seriously... its likely to be cracks somewhere, take the drivers guard off and have a look.

Re: Bad GQ dash squeaks
It could be your bonnet hinges. As weird as it sounds mine started as a creak and a groan and ended in an annoying clucketty cluck. Turns out the pivot point of my bonnet hinges was flogged out and they were flapping against the firewall and the sound was traveling into the cab.

Also you can check the chassis to body mount under the floor as they can squeak a bit when loose or have a heap of dust in them
Re: Bad GQ dash squeaks
Thanks for the tips. I'll take a look at the hinges and see how it goes.
Re: Bad GQ dash squeaks
x3 on the bonnet hinges.
drove me nuts for months, thought the car was going to snap.
Then just by chance..a dog jumped on my bonnet and the noise started again and thats how i found it :-)...
The noise is gone but the dog is still here :-)
