can this be done or is it a real pain? custom double carden front and rear shafts are pricey. is this a cheaper option? i.e. replacing sierra shafts with modified double carden hilux drive shafts.

i need extra length because of yj spring conversion

i presume ur springover?, u just need a standard hilux shaft on the front, and a double cardan on the rear. the spigots or the yokes might need working depending on the year of the shafts, i just slotted the holes in my yokes to fit the sierra flanges.

So its hilux rear shaft up front, and wont the suzi front shaft work in the rear? or am i confused? i think im confused.

Hilux rear shaft in the front of a sierra,
hilux front shaft (double cardin) in the rear.

I have done this in my 92 wide track, the bolt patern is identical :shock:
But the locating spigot on the toyota flange is 1mm (from memory) larger than the suzuki, I had the toyota flages turned down as they will last longer than the suzuki parts that they bolt to :lol:
Mine was a bit tricky as I have a t/case mounted hand brake with a smaller bolt patern so I made an adapter plate that goes between the toyota flange and the suzuki drum :armsup:

Mine were off a late(ish) solid axle model with vented discs, not sure of the year, but early lux's had solid discs not vented.

the shafts i used were the same spigot as the sierra ones, i just had to open up the holes a bit to fit

I used hilux shafts and got then re worked by my local driveline place. They work the treat and heaps stronger.
Suzuki Sierra, 6.5 twin sticked transfer,f&r 4.88 locked diffs, full exo, ute chop, bead locked 35 claws,winch,long travel shocks,stretched chassis.
