Re: patroldocta zd30 airbox in gq?
YEs i got one about a year back fitting it was a pain though.
Had to modify the second battery housing for the air box to fit properly, but expect to spend a few more bucks on different attchments to ur snorkel.
I had a mandrel bent stainless steel tube made to run from air box to turbo, ths was not cheap and add the price of 2 different reducers so the cost can go up a lot on what you think.
Had a definate power gain, nothing fantastic but every bit helps.
I checked the filter last week and its still ok, Turbo is happier too.
Most felt improvement for me is the much nicer responce between 1800 and 2200rpm range, its so much stronger in that rev range.
I suppose the only way i can describe it i like this....
BEFORE the air box....
fully loaded heading UP the mountains (M4) from Penrith I would end up in 3rd gear with revs dropping rapidly towards the top.
Last week i went to the turon river and took my box trailer - roof rack and kayak..... she got me up there in 4th and stayed around the 1900 rpm mark. So im talking just over 4.1 tonne
Im happy with that.
