Who'd you buy your tube off ?

Post by Jive »

I'm looking at buying some 1 3/4" 2.6 wall thickness(aprox) cds mild steel tube.
Does opw still sell tube??
I was quoted $1222.19 icluding gst delivered for 8 lengths at 7.35m off performance metals Australia.

What have some of you got it for and where from?

Bit of thread digging ...... is there a supplier of 1 3/4 tube in Brisbane ? Freight up to Darwin is utterly ridiculous, suppliers up here look at you like you've got 2 heads when you ask for CDW tube . I have a mate that might be able to help me get it from Brisbane to Darwin, so is there anyone up that way that can supply ? only looking at 3 lengths ...

For all the cost and hassle why don't you buy more like 6 lengths and stash it away, if you end up needing/wanting more it will cost you heaps more.

Just a thought

You're 100% right Brad, I looked into getting 10 lengths from 3 different sources and each time the freight was 80% the cost of the tube so that turned me off a lot . A mate is going over to the 4X4 show in Brisbane and maybe (just maybe) looking at a tilt tray whilst there so I hit him up to strap some tube to the tray and don't wish to push my luck on available space .

I can see why people just go Fark it and build with NB pipe .... sometimes it's just too hard, but I will persist .

All Metal Magic (offroad Boss) isn't to far away from you so you will save in shipping. Might be worth a call.
