Extended front tailshaft, 84 model hilux

Post by Odum »

Hi

Im just finishing off my 84 hilux build up, 35 inch BFG's mudds, 4 inch lift, snake racing drop drag and torque rod.

Im worried about my front tail shaft, it looks like it will pull apart on full droop.

What have people done to overcome this ?

thanks

Im not sure where you are located but Drive Shaft Engineering in Kirrawee (02 9545 6522) were very helpful with some stuff I had done and the price was right too. Hope this might help.

Sounds like a top rig.

No idea what they've done with my front tail shaft, I thought it was standard. I'll take some pics and send them too you.

Fit a hi pinion diff in the front It also takes the radical angle of the unis
and keeps the shaft about 5" higher

Just test it first.Put it in reverse and pin it down the road and slam on the brakes if the shaft pulls apart it needs to be lenghthen.
