just wondered what would be stronger, toyota hi lux 4.8's or precison gears 5.29's ??

I don't have any first hand experiences with precision gears and have only heard bad stories about them. Have heard that the material they machine them from is like cheese.

You don't always here the good stories though :!:

They both have a 8 tooth pinion so they both should have the same strength other than the 5.28 will deliver more torque

you are more likly to break the 5.29 than the 4.88, i hear yukon gears from the states are pretty damn strong and im thinking bout importing a set of 5.29s for my lux

i run precsion 5.29s and to date have had no probs.Around 2 years of driving
