MQ axle shattered
MQ axle shattered
thats right no twist just shattered. and it's also taken out the center short side rear
Geezuz. How did that happen?
Definatly NOT a common problem at all. Especially in the rear. If anything would go i would of thought it to be the front...... Even then its pretty hard to do that.
Wat were u doing? trying to pull burnouts with a brand new clutch on 38's on a dry bitumen road?
Ive got a spare or 3 if u need one

lockright is for 2 pinion h260.
still don't know why it gave up the way it did.
such is life
so the axle you blew was from an MQ H260? thats a 1.51" 37 spline axle..
I read that and thought the same thing, and then thought, I think he bought a lockright from a dude with a H260.
How many splines (little grooves) on the broken piece of axle?!! 31 or 33 or 37?
hands and mums dont count!!!

sorry guys the center i destroyed was h260 with lockright installed
the one im now running is h233 witch is a 4 pinion.and both h233 and h260 are 31 spline.
will find another h260 center to fit lockright . so i will be locked once again

Wait, am I reading this right? There were 31-spline H260s? That's a pretty small shaft for what is otherwise a heavy-duty axle isn't it?
And am I just totally off my rocker, or does what I'm reading imply that H233B and H260 centers are interchangeable into the H260 housing if indeed they have a common spline count? I would prefer to think you swapped an entire H233B in place of the H260 for now, much easier to get my head around...

In search of an MQ (offset) H233b rear, housing only preferred, plus a complete GQ or GU front (4.6 ratio ideal) to be shipped to the US. Cheap! Email/PM if you can help.

beefie, how does 27mm more ring gear fit into the h233b housing?
or are you referring to the h233 housing that is found in MQs and not the h233b? is there even a difference in these two axles? the h233 and h233b?
i started another post about questions on diff gearing and was given the link to this thread. i was planning on making a custom housing using 33-spline h233b diffs but if i can fit a h260 diff in a h233b housing i'll gladly take the 37-splines
