I have a 2002 2.8 Td triton (4m40 engine) which has a factory 65amp alternator. Judging by my mileage (280000km) and heavy use of the truck, the alt should just about cark it soon. I'm also charging duel batteries in the engine bay and a battery in the work trailer amd run engel 24/7.
So i thought if alternator needs replacemnet anyway, why not look into an upgrade, to get a generous amount of charge into the batteries whilst maintaining proper operation of high beams and driving lights.
Has anybody made this upgrade before? If so what kind of alternator were you able to fit on there and what mods were required.
Ill be measuring mounts and pully sizes etc today.
Cheers
Bj.
