I have a 2009 GU, planning a 4" lift.
I have the choice between saving some coin on a second hand sent of 4" supaflex arms or waiting a couple of weeks to get the new ones with the Toyota style rear bush. It seems the big advantage of the new arms is the rear bush not being chopped out.
My question is: How big of an issue is this? How often do the rear bushes get destroyed on the old style arms? Should I wait and pay the extra $ or go with the second hand set? What has been your experience?

my opinion is how much you pay for a 2nd hand set. i got mine 2nd hand for 600 and were pretty much new. to be fair i haven't really used them much due to a blown motor but my original nissan style arms seem to go good. easter will be a better test for me as i'll have a real good go on them.

personally, for me the decision for 80s style bush rear is purely because the landcruisers have so much tighter a front end, they dont seem to sway (not roll, but i cant think of the word) as much and just feel more responsive in the front end. they also dont know and feel smoother over bumps... i know alot comes down to geometry but i think the bush will help a lot
turbos are nice but i'd rather be blown

Its depends on how you drive and what type off terrain your drive. My mate that competes is lucky to get 2 races out the rear bushes, they split due to hard impacts. My first set were stuffed after 15,000klm, most off those klm were offroad and my front end flexes great so the bushes get a hard time. I have also heard off guys doing over 200,000klm and the bushes still looked brand new, but they didn't do much 4x4ing.
Having owned both sets off arms, the new one are a massive improvement over the old ones.
