Ian the ARB engineer working on this project owns a Pajero and has the prototype fitted to his vehicle for testing I hear it has performed very well.
All the tooling have been made up for it as well Hardman Bros who do the 2.85 t/case gears actually cut the side gears and other bits for ARB lockers thats how I know all this.
Also I have found a 3.5 V6 auto t/case for $550 which I will get in a few weeks for low range development so hopefully in 3-4 months you will get your wish.

Frank.

Will your new low range development for the 3.5L/auto also cater for the 2.8L, 3.5L (Gen 2.5???) manual boxes?

Yes they will cater for the 5sp boxes as well.
We found with the 3.0 V6 / 2.6 t/cases that the input shafts are different sizes (24 spline for 5sp and 23 coarse spline for the auto).
So the input gears are different between the auto & 5sp versions but the low range and idler gears are the same for both.
I'm guessing the 3.5 / 2.8 t/case has the same difference between the auto and 5sp.
