Trying to do some homework, After some confirmation if you can help.
Std hilux WMS = 1400mm
IFS hilux WMS = 1470mm
80 Series WMS = 1600mm
Currently i have a IFS width plus neg 22's which equals 1514mm
So an 80 series diff would put me out an extra 43mm each side even on ZERO offset wheels, Weekend use with play tyres i dont mind, however for daily use im not sure i could get away with that inside "realistic" front barwork and tray.
So im looking at 2005+ hilux factory wheels to use as dailys. My homework tells me these are Positive offset 30mm. Is that right??
If it works, then I would only be increasing from 1514mm to 1540mm which is certainly workable. I came to 1540mm by taking 80s WMS of 1600mm and subtracting 60mm (POS offset of 30mm x2). Is that correct??
Also, is it even feasible/practical to run POS offset 30mm rims??
Does it work?
How does it turn? ie: Neg offset turn in an arc, zero offset turn on spot, what does pos offset do??
Is it driveable?
How far out/obvious do hubs poke through the wheel??
Obviously on an IFS hilux from factory its designed like that but is it doable on a 80 series front diff?
Or am i just over thinking things???

You will need to use an early 80 series front diff (pre 92) with the smaller brakes if you are going to use 15" hilux wheels. In saying that, i would check if the +30 rims will clear the steering arms and calipers first anyway.
What width rim is the -22 rim you are using now, and what width is the +30 rim? This measurement is not the same across all wheel widths.
If both rims were the same width, using the figures you have provided, you should end up 13mm wider on each side.

Adam, sorry mate I never even thought to mention about wheel sizes and brakes.
Currently my neg 22's are 15x8's, however I'm actually thinking about using rims off a SR5 or prado maybe so as to get a 16" or 17" rim size and then be able to run bigger brakes.
I think most are 7" wide but I was working on 8" wide for the measurements as that is ideally what i am after
If it was 7" tho, it would be 13mm wider each side less the difference in rim width wouldn't it??
So 1" rim difference = 25.4mm divide by 2 = 12.7mm, call it 13 mm for ease
So in the end I would end up the same as now on 7" rims hey?? 13mm wider on 8" rims but identical on 7" rims hey??
Drive ability shouldn't be too bad I think because even though the centre of the rim is 52mm further inbound it should still be outside the kingpin so it shouldn't have any funny turning characteristics should it??

Sorry mate, ive been on holidays and really busy. Here is a photo of a guy who has 80 series front and custom full float hilux rear. (Hope Chester doesnt mind) He makes and does alot of custom work on the northside of Brisbane.

What's the reason for going the 80 diff, is it the bigger centre or do you want the wider diff.
If you want the bigger centre have you thought about 60 diffs, as I'm pretty sure it is closer wms to you ifs diff but it has the large centre.
I'm going a 80 rear diff but that's only because a 80 rear diff plus my wheel spacers means I can have a stronger diff for the same width.

The prado rims 120series are 17x7 +30 offset. Lux has smaller rims but I think they are still 7" wide rims.
Don't forget your play Tyres will step up in price the bigger the rim, 17" large Tyres are expensive compared to 15's
