GU TD42 N/A Airbox

Post by Yo_jono »

Good evening,

I am currently running a 99' GU Coil cab ute.
Was a TD42T, But due too the previous owner not knowing why a snorkel was needed, Then being a Tigh@ss on the Replacement, He Just put a N/A TD42 in there.
He sold the turbo off the old engine, And sent the Air cleaner box that sits behind the Passenger Side Headlight along with it!
Therefore, I am only running the Air filter on top of the engine.

So, Is it ok too run Just this Air filter for the time being, And once I get a snorkel, Just connect it straight upto that filter?
Or am I going too have too find a GU air box?

Any help, Much appreciated!

Cheers
Jono

Yeah i can't see why not, the other filters only a "pre filter" anyway and most patrols only have one filter anyway!
All 3lt and most GQ's only had one. I say if it feels good, do it!

its fine to run it for now, the only thing is you may hav eto get checked the amount of fuel, as if its still set for a turbo its may be too much for being n/a. as for getting another turbo air box - the question is are you going to put a turbo back on it and if its going to be a factory turbo or aftermarket, big or small, big boost or rather standard? i'd b answering these before getting another air box for now
