Does any one know if and how you can disable the traction control so it never ever ever comes on again in a 2012 triton.
This is a dangerous feature it has nearly caused me to have multiple accidents, 2 which could have been fatal.
Any information would be great
Thanks
Jim

New triton traction control

Re: New triton traction control
Just wanting to know how it came to be that it has nearly caused you accidents ?? I have it in my 2010mn and have driven it for over 2 years without an issue Only time i turn it off is sand driving as it will get you bogged real quick . You can disable it by pressing you asc button to turn it off but you have to do it every time you start you car . Only reason i could see for permanent disabling is to rip skids or a surf lifesaving vehicle. Anyhow you can disable by taking the asc relay out but i think it disables something else as well from memory.
Re: New triton traction control
I assume your talking about situations where you try to take off at an intersectoion quickly just to have the truck bog down on you leaving you exposed to through traffic... I've had this happen a few times in numerous cars.
ASC switch only switches off the stability control, not the traction control. I find 9 times out of 10 its the stability control unit that causes issues, the traction control itself (mine is a 2010) slow to kick in.
The guys on newtriton.net have played around with various mods but mainly to maintain the TC system on while the rear diff is locked (as TC gets dissengaged automatically). Might find some info there.
Pulling fuses also dissables ABS I think.

I have had similar issues with my Pajero, my solution was to drive in 4H, hasn't happened since
