1hdt Hole in Block

Post by Thomo416 »

Well I picked up a 93gxl with 1hdt in it the other day, slight hole in size of the block about the size of my fist.

Now I have to work out what to do with it, do I part it out or repair it,

I have a good fresh 1hz, could put that in and put turbo onto it, Can I use the 1hdt pump? Can I drop the 1hz infront of the Manual from the 1hdt or is the input shaft different, Clutch different etc amd anything else I need to know before doing this?

To rebuild a 1hz to take the head and such from the 1hdt what other things should I consider, obviously the pistons are different, Do I use a 1hdt crank and rods and new slugs?

Mate, have a look at lcool.org/forum

there is heaps of good info on exactly what you are asking.

there is a lot to change to build 1HZ up to be a 1HD-T, you need to change rods, pistons, head, pump, injectors.

gearboxes bolt up, but clutches and flywheel are different size/bolt pattern and input shafts are different spline count etc to match clutches.
