Suzuki LJ tin top mod questions

Hey guys,

I will be picking up an LJ tin top on the weekend or $100

I have lined up a V6 & auto, hilux diffs and LT230 transfer to go with the auto.
Now I will be looking to do a budget build to enter Aust 4 and possibly a couple winch comps.

Now my question is do you have any links to some build threads for these rigs or even images of some with wheel base extensions??
We are hoping to get +90" wheelbase whilst keeping it as a full body, with some cutting and panel work is this possible??

One option we have is to drop the cab onto a range rover chassis 100" wheelbase from factory, we could cut a length out of this chassis to shorten it do you think that may be a better option?

Jus picked it up. Only cutting I would be doing is rear wheel arches just to allow for the wheel bad extension.
It's pretty rusty so a heap of cutting and seeing some new sheet metal in will be needed.
And whole new roof also! :(


Can anyone tell me if its possible to buy fibreglass guards for these things?? Or maybe just bonnet.

Well here she is!
A little rusty and needing a fair bit of love!
We have a pretty good idea on what we are going to do to get her up and running and racing, will need a whole heap of new sheet metal, but should be all good!
