which gauges

Hey guys
So this will probably sound stupid

But im fitting a temperature gauge to my comp truck and I cant figure out if I need just a temp gauge or a water temp gauge?

And answer would be good

Well what temperature do you want to monitor? Water temp? Engine oil temp? Trans temp?

Well id say engine temp but just looking at the gauges there's a plain temp one and a water temp cant seem to find engine temp? If there is such a thing

Engine temp normally taken from water jacket. Personally i would go full mechanical gauges for comp, less things to go wrong. So ya water temp gauge will be a thin copper tube than runs from sensor to gauge, same as a mech oil pressure gauge, and auto box temp. These are the only 3 gauges i have + RPM

you want a water temp guage.
