Old School Nissan Trials style event? NSW

Re: Old School Nissan Trials style event? NSW
Any competitors need an extra spectator. A web page would be good for stalkbook sharing once all the specifics are ironed out.

Good news.
One thing. How do you run an outlaw class with rego?. Do you check rego papers?
Being closer we might be able a few of the local tuff trucks to come do a working bee with your club and test the tracks

Easy. You put a long arm kit on a patrol means it's an outlaw, you change spring mounts on a Hilux it's an outlaw, you daily drive on 33's but bolt on 40's for play it's an outlaw.evanstaniland wrote:Good news.

Many trucks can be engineered and daily driven that come comp time are actually forced in to outlaw. My Hilux is a classic example, it's my daily driver of 1000-1100km every week but come comp time I'm technically in outlaw class

I don't see how this is Great News?
Good news for Sydney based competitors yes, but not great news!
Further for country competitors to travel and not an extra comp on the Calender as original suggested by this post!
Relocating a company can't be claimed as a "New" Comp!
What we need is MORE comps!

Re: Old School Nissan Trials style event? NSW
Well why don't you organise one then
.....If its not on all 4's its not on......
Re: Old School Nissan Trials style event? NSW
Considering Woodpecker was run at Dargle at Lower Portland for so many years, this would be alot closer to "country" entrants than that.
Dargle, so many memories, J7 was fantastic out there!!

Re: Old School Nissan Trials style event? NSW
I think what Rob is getting at is a little change or tweak to something means your car doesnt meet class regs for open, so you have to go up to Outlaw.
Im another example of a car that wont meet open class regs, so if I enter this, itll be in Outlaw, which is a bit daunting for me.
Its a very basic Hilux, still running stock height leaf springs front and rear, but because I have a dropped spring hanger on the front, and its not a factory suspension mount, Im in Outlaw.
On a Hilux, youll struggle to get 33s engineered these days, so 40s are out of the question.

Rego and insurance void as soon as you put 40s on.
I know what mods get you into outlaw. But defeats the rego side. That was my point.

Rego and insurance are valid on 33's! I don't drive with 40's on the road.
Insurance doesn't cover competition anyway, the 40's don't matter a stuff.
When did I ever even remotely imply I expected to be insured when running the 40's??
And if your seriously trying to be that nitpicky just for the sake of disagreement by saying that rego is void with 40's then how about you go back through EVERY other class below and deregister EVERY single truck that hasn't engineered the tyres they play on. You may as well send 90% of the teams home!
And if you want to get technical, it wouldn't void the rego anyway, it would merely be no more than a defect, the rest of the truck is still legal!
