It is a jig table that aligns all of the steel components in the chassis.
All of the components are held down securely and kept square to 0.1mm, to ensure movement during welding is minimised.

I have designed the table with an SEW Eurodrive 3 phase motor / worm gear reduction at one end, to allow the table to rotate along its length - so welding can be achieved from both sides whilst remaining clamped.
this is similar to what hot rodders use to rotate cars for fabrication below the chassis.

Like this in theory, but not as bodge;

We have been keeping busy here at EVA.

The camper is making good progress and the 3 point mounting system has been designed, drawn, laser cut and I just welded it out last weekend.
It is like nothing else around, and we are excited to market it when the time comes. I am reluctant to post pics until it is finished, painted and looks tidy as word spreads fast in this game.
We have developed an aluminum tray that shares the campers 3 point mounting system and this is available for viewing in a few weeks. We will be keeping stock of these units for immediate sale.

Frontal body protection is a big part of safety in expedition travel, so we are proud to release our front bar built by one of the best in the industry - Custom Alloy.
We have long range tanks now available and at 168lt of additional fuel they make great drives possible.

The custom designed aluminum extrusion is back from the supplier and has passed QC, so we are weeks away from having our first body commence construction.

This has taken longer than expected, but we are in this for the long haul, and have invested heavily into production facilities etc. which has taken time, but I am sure it will help us be highly competitive.

You saw them here first!!!!

What do people think of the colour?

I am told black machined is the most popular colour.

Look good, although I probably would go no paint if I was in the market.

I agree entirely, and its not really my taste either, but I am assured by the manufacturer that the demographic (40-60 year olds) is chasing black machined.
They recon all the caravans in the country are black machined, and this has been true at all the shows I have been at.

I'll have more of a look at the Show this weekend.

Others comments would be appreciated,

Cheers Justin

I think they will look a whole lot better on the iveco, being that the front "large" bumper is black as well as the trims

could a mat black be a better option- sort of match the mirrors etc rather than the gloss, but still appeal to the market wanting machined and black?

have you got a stand at the show?

seems there is a bit of momentum building for the ivecos ?

Thanks Guys,

Matt black is not an option as the wheel is clear coated after the black has been applied, and machined.

I did look at the beadlock option, but walker evans has that market for Ivecos, and I want our stuff to be road legal.
As for the fake locks - they had to alter the rim quite a lot, and I didn't like the way it looked. Maybe in a future edition!

We will not have a stand at this years show, although I will be attending.

I think they look really good and the black is an essential part of this. Without the black i feel they would be a little plain and black certainly drives the logo and company initials. If the concerns on black is for scratching? i would have said most is out of harms way.

I wouldn't like to be competing with the likes of Kym Bolten in anything he does. He has done lots of expedition driving around the world so would be set up really well.

He beat us to it alright, and his travel and off road experience cannot be underestimated.
As mentioned previously, I wish Kym and Col all the best in their endeavors.

It is not a new concept though, and the market is receptive to numerous suppliers.

The response we have had at EVA has been fantastic, and we are confident in our products and our capabilities.
Our engineering background allow us to design in house - products that others out source, and we are quietly working away on our EV, which will be released before the end of the year.

Last week we started the development of our 1 piece glass body, and it will be offered alongside our composite panel constructed versions.
This will take a year or so, but we are in this for the long haul.

Cheers,

Justin

Once you start to looking for them, they certainly are about but certainly need some kitting out from factory. Would be a great promo truck on 37's + cruising the coast!
