Drill through and continue spinning the bit till you melt the rubber and revulcanise the new hole.

I just fitted 3' offset bushes in the hunjy. Not a fan of the offset bushes, but definitely a fan of decent caster angles.

I always intended drilling the offset bushes to reduce the rigidity to reduce strain on caster brackets on the diff, or reintroduce some flex. Have drilled bushes before, but not been satisfied with the longevity of the bush with a "torn" drill hole.

Your tip leaves a factory looking hole but damn, it stinks out the garage!



Drilled some 7.5 and some 10mm holes. Bushes are heaps more pliable.

Drives nice, yet to check out the flex, but I suspect it will be fine

Dont know how true it is but heard gu bushes fit and already have holes.

Std bushes have holes, just very small ones. If a little one works, a big one's bound to work betterer

Reason for me drilling out offset bushes is they are known to be stiffer, plus induce more stress on caster brackets on the diff. They're also blamed for cracking of the housing around the caster brackets

Did some slight mods on Saturday and bolted the claws on for a lo range run Saturday night.

Put some 1" coil spacers in front to level the car out and the claws fitted with no scrubbing, made a couple of lower shock extenders for the front shocks as they only allowed 1.5 inch down travel, they gave me 4.5inch for this trip. Then took her up the first stage of Rocky tk and onto the chicken tracks for the second. Aimed for every hole I could see but could not get the claws to scrub, pretty happy about that. The diesel is brilliant in lo range, just set the hand throttle to 1000rpm and point and shoot with the occasional throttle blip.

I cant understand how people think front sway bar dis-connect is hard on the 80, in 5 mins I had the two bolts out that connect the bar to just above the castor plates and an ocky strap holding the bar out of the way, simples.

Looking at some 5" extended EFS extreme shocks as the measure appropriate for my car, will allow 5" down and 5" up travel, should do well.

Never read any bad reports on these shocks, any input on the guys?

How doe the EFS compare with Procomp shocks?
Similar price point.
I have Procomp shocks in mine and they are rubbish. Wwwwwaaaaayyyyy too soft for a heavy wagon, damping is totally inadequate

About $220 per corner, but then price doesn't mean quality.
Wouldn't want to waste $800 plus on the wrong shocks.
