im after some info on doing a v6 conversion on my '92 2.8td hilux
the 2.8 is in need of a rebuild so in getting prices i have found that the cost is about the same to put the v6 in as it is to rebuild the 2.8
what i want to know is any pros and cons in doing this conversion as i cant make up my mind on what to do

EDIT: Sorry just realsied i gave the stats for a 3.0L turbo. I got it off the marks site and it is the only turbo diesel on the hilux list.
Toyota 3.0L Turbo Diesel 85kW 315 Nm torque
Holden 3.8 V6 130-150kW 295-305 Nm torque (depends on model)
I just assumed this is the V6 your talking about. If your talking about the surf or 4runner v6 (think thats what they came in) I've never read of anyone doing that swap.
Take a look at the supra swap everyone talks about for cheap. My understanding is you can sell the diesel and almost cover the cost of the supra conversion. Some of the more knowledgeable guys will give you a better idea. Plus there are a numebr of recent threads on conversions in the 4x4tech and toyota sections.

1: what is the differance between the supra vs commodor
2: will i still be able to conect my a/c and heater up easily (a/c only recently fixed and regas)
3:what other mods would i have to do eg. snorkel, fuel tank etc.
4: is this easy to get enginerred
1) Supra is a straight 6 commy is a V6. You will need an a adatper to run a commy motor, with the supra you can use the manual bellhousing with the motor to mate to the hilux gear box. see http://www.outerlimits4x4.com/PHP_Modules/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=18441
2) if you want to run a/c with the v6 you will need to use the commy compressor as it is a serpintine configuration. No idea about the supra, but it may be very similar to the hilux one as it is all Toyota.
3) Radiator mods, Electris fuel pump, wiring
4) no idea
