Hey everyone on the nissan forum! Im interested in buying a GQ SWB because im sick on the Yota Surf im driving at the moment! Im looking for something thats in ok condition not too flash thou! Medium k's on the clock and hopefully some mods already done! I suppose my main question is what sort of money should i be spending! My thoughts were between $10000-$13500.
What do ya think?
What did you pay for yours?

Gday,
I paid $11000 in February,
200000kms, 2in susp, 2in body, 33in muds, snorkel, suspension seats, exhaust and cam work, new clutch, roof consol, tightened LSD?(works heaps better than all my mates) and mag wheels. I thought this was an ok price but have seen some pretty cheap ones around. My mate bought his for $6000 with high kms but perfect cond. with no mods
So $13500 could get you into the lates model with a few mods I'd imagine. That would be about the most I'd expect to pay for a relatively stock unit like mine.
Keep an eye out in the for sale section, I've seen a few decent units go real cheap recently, otherwise ask around at 4wd shops and stuff, often they know of people wanting to sell.
Or buy Cheezy's and have the sickest one round

Not $10-13k either.. up around $45k you would have a good car I think

Nah cheap to run, it's on LPG
It actually rides really well, some 37 MTRs on it and it would travel fine on the road. You would definitely win the traffic light drags, that's for sure.

I paid $8500 for mine, 93 model petrol Maverick, completely stock, extremely good condition, was still on the skinny 16" rims with 29ish inch road tyres.
Prices seem to range a fair bit, but that's probably a reasonable amount to pay for a stock one in good nick. Pay more for a modded one if you want but check the modded ones more carefully for signs of abuse!
You're also faced with the gutless NA diesel vs uneconomical petrol... unless you score a turbo diesel, which is gonna cost more but probably be worth it.

This is not legal advice.
As far as getting a Petrol wet it isnt really a problem I know of people that have had Petrol Patrol/mavs That have gotton stuck in rivers with water at bonnet hieght and the car was still running in the time it took for the other car to turn around setup for winching. So probably 5mins. Car was still running, bit rough but running and this is with the whole engine bay (including the interior) flooded.
Plus have alook at the comp cars most of them are now petrols.
