Im not looking at moving hangers or going cross over steering (Yet ) I need to do something as my wonderfull standard front springs that were on the car when i got it are now inverted! She looks like a wheel barrow couple of inches lower at the front.
do stock rears move the diff at all??
if its just a case of some shackles i can handle that, but if i start getting into lengthened drive shafts and modified steering i dont think my bank account will like it!
I've seen somewhere for a sale, a plate that goes between the spring pack and the axle and it has a hole for the locating pin on the spring and a pin further back on the other side to keep the axle in the right spot. I don't know if they are any good or not, have just seen them around.
I think those blocks are to do the opposite they'll move your axle forward from the locator on your spring , but could be welded on back to front if you want to keep original axle location, but why would you want that, a tailshaft spacer is about $100 or fit a shaft of a surf, they are meant to be longer.
Rears up front will need longer tailshaft and either custom drag link and diff locater arm (ie they both need to be shorter) or crossover steering (ie new steering box and steering arms), you won't get out of either option for less than $400.
I got a set of parabolic springs for the front, give 3" lift, ride better than standard, PM if interested.
So if i go the rears to front option i would need a tailshaft space, drag link and shackles. Is this all i would need??
Yip, you'll get away with the standard shackels to bolt it up, not sure about the caster angle though. Also won't shortening the diff locator and the drag link cause problems with articulation?
