SA Daihatsu owners read this!

Post by murcod »

Are there any SA Daihatsu owners lurking around who aren't registered? I'm looking at organising a day trip sometime soon- so anyone who's interested join up and raise your hand.

I've already got four interested starters (two are Daihatsu's so far...)

We may end up venturing as far as the Blanchetown area; I need to find a location first, then we'll organise a date.

PS: don't worry if you've got bog stock suspension (like me).... or not much 4wding experience (like me again   )

Drove for over 4hrs / 150km today and didn't find a thing in the One Tree Hill area. Just plenty of fenced off tracks or padlocked gates.

Turned into one track just outside Gawler, which ended up just going into a small paddock. I did a lap around the paddock and then drove out the entrance to see this huge unimpressed looking dude making his way across the road from a house looking to have a go at me!

Damn ricer exhaust - can't sneak around anywhere now.....

Yeah good idea murcod. A day trip would be ideal at the moment. Although a weekender in the near future would be awsome too. I'll be in that.

Hi

I have a 85 turbo diesel rocky with an inch or so lift. I would be interested in a day trip depending on what weekend and a few of my mates might come as well. I know a really good spot at morgan about an hour and a half minutes from adelaide. Heaps of area to muck around on.

Hi Ben, thanks for the tip on Morgan- it could be the place to go. ;)

I take it that it's all legal up there where you go and not private property or anything?

Is it suitable for beginners with standard vehicles too?

Yeah it is legal to go there and we go there quite a bit even with motorcross bikes etc. with no rego. It is good for all types of vehicles to muck around in and I reckon its a really good place to learn. I have seen standard new suzukis out there on some of the stuff. There are so many acres of valleys and little quaries you can spend a day in there and constantly find new tracks.

Im also going to robe/beachport this longweekend which will be excellent but you need more than a weekend down there.
Any other adelaide people heading down there this weekend?

Catch you later

Hi Ben, thanks for the info. I'll be organising a trip soon, possibly to Morgan, so if you want to come along let me know.

The details will all be on here... a few other non Daihatsu Outerlimits members are going already.

Hey guys

I have just been speaking to a member from the 4wdrive association of south australia to find out how good the morgan quarry and surrounding areas are.

He has informed me that some of it has been fenced off and the rest will be shortly (11kms worth), it is all private property and trespassers will be prossacuted.

Apparently the 4wd club have bought the land for $1 on a 99 year lease.
The reason it has been shut to the members of the public and can only be used by the 4wd club (for training purposes) is because to many people have been getting injured there and there was a fatality as well last year.
(ute rolled and killed someone) Also there have been 2 people in the last 18months become paraplegics or quadraplegics.

I suppose if you are still keen to go we can ring the 4wd association and try and get a pass to go there.
