just wonder if there is an easy way of removin the little seals that sit between the trunion bearing race and the knuckle ??

and does any1 run them or just get rid of them ?? toyota axles dont have them and am wonderin if its worth puttin in new ones coz i will still have the seal between the bearing and the bearing cap...

yah i just knock em out, as there a pick not to damage when removing. I havent bothered replacing then as they didnt come with the seal/bearing kit. but many times ive found the lower bearing all rusted and stuffed due to water entery. wonder what there worth new from nissan.

They can be CAREFULLY driven out using a drift the same size as the bearing cap shaft,from the bearing cup side. I think they are there to keep the bearing grease from mixing with the CV housing grease. Not sure how much they are from Nissan as i was able to salvage mine during the last teardown

yeah i have not worried bout puttin them back in only coz the toyota axles dont have them and dont have a prob so im gunna take the risk.

if i have dramas ill worry bout it then..

i also not wories bout greases mixing cox i use cv grease on my trunion bearings anyway so if it mixes it dont matter :roll:

oh shit do cv need a different grease i use the same grease on my whole truck
