Fair price for Original 4.6's diff gears

Post by Deano »

G'day All,

Wrecker over my way has original Nissan 1:4.6 front and rear diff gears from a GU.

He is asking $880 Each for set-.

Is this a fair price?

I'm checking to see if they will straight swap onto my diffs, (searching the posts here makes me think I should be OK)

Cheers, Deano

Several firms advertise them cheaper than that new. Check out 4wd systems (Goanna anywhere) I think they do them for about $750ish and try calling Nissan for a price on new ones.

Yeah, I had checked the aftermarket manafacturer route and costs racnged from $500-$700 per diff.

I wanted original Nissan as they are better quality, apparently.

$880 seems a bit much i got qouted $1000 per end for new orginal (NISSAN) and that was fitted

also it's not worth getting the aftermarket ones have been told that they tend to get noisy and from what i have heard about G&J diffs they just simply self destruct alot of problems with them.

cheers

Contact Lindsay @ Linquip, the mob in Gympie (Qld) that do the V8 diesel conversions. Ho does them for a very reasonable price. That's where I got mine from!!
