Simon,
I watched most issues and saw Chipper & Huddy in the NZWC which was ace in car footage and Hummer in the Viewers rigs segment was good to. I reckon the viewers rig segment is waht you need more of, hence my suggestion. As for the association (4WDVIC) I reckon after them seeing your show they're view would be more posative towards you and they (all of us) need an out let like your show to portray the posative side (can collection, area clean ups, RUG issues, ect...) of 4Wheeling.
Keep up the good work!

I'm sure the association has seen the show and realise the impact it is having but neither them or the tread lightly mob are interested.

We also had meetings with another 4wd insurance company re sponsorship...but we were given the clear impression by them that becuase there was no support from the association, they weren't interested...this was just after they had met with assoc.
It worked out well though as that insurer has now been dropped by the assoc and by many clubs (across Australia) and Bushtrack (who took a risk and signed up to support us) have been kicking goals.

The political shite we have gone through has been rediculous...fortunately though groups like DNRE and Police (Broadford especially) have been awesome and we will have interviews with both coming up in regard to keeping our tracks open...yes someone is on our side.

That assoc stuff sounds a bit suss on there part. Maybee we should push from the other side from the clubs and suggest the assoc contact 4x4TV as you are a good way of communicating with the masses and they may be able to use 4x4TV to get issues to the 4x4 people. (such as the wombat thing ect..) I bet their radio show doesn't get as many listerners/viewers as you guys do. Obviously if you get the assoc approval(in a sense) you may find it easier to get more sponsors and then hit the big time.
I may sound like an assoc junkie but I believe we all (assoc, media, clubs, all 4wders, ect...) need to work together and help each other promote safe responsible 4wding and help keep access available to everyone.

For sure...we all have to stick together, no doubt. We will work with them when they are ready...but there is much more to it unfortunately.

The radio show does get heaps of listners but it is an almost seperate demographic to our show...and without being too political, their needs and interests are a little different to ours.

Don't get me wrong...I am not adding to the 'them and us' battle...it's all one cause for us. I'm just saying that maybe their agenda has a different focus...and is possibly directed by certain individuals.

When Hari came to our meeting, I thought the response was quite favorable to the idea. He was added to our Magazine email list, so he knew when our trips would be, so he/you could fit a trip in with your other responsibilities. The only neg was, not a special trip for filming, but filming on a normal club trip. Not sure how you got the idea Suzuki club wasn't interested, though we do care how we are portrayed, of course, as any club would be.
It must be added that my hearing is poor, and I may have misheard or misunderstood? christover

Have to agree with Chris here. The only negative comment was the aspect of using existing footage of a couple of events as a couple of people with somewhat in the grey area of legal cars didn't want their cars in. We invited hari to the August snow trip and are quite happy to get you guys along to any of our up and coming events. I have also supplied some footage for use in the next series.

Simon you and hari are doing a great job and please take any criticism from this forum as constructive (regardless of how it may sound at times) As you can see the interstate interest is very positive. Good luck with it. And remember the Suzuki Club is very willing to help in any way we can

Cheers

Graham and Chris, I specifically made special mention of the suzuki club (and suzukis...I used to have one and I miss the old Rhino days too) on a number of occassions in the first few shows. The negative response was mentioned to me by Hari, who did say that whilst most members were very supportive, one particular person was not so ameniable to the idea...that's all I know and that's all I said. Please, if that particular person did not voice such reservations (and we all know who it was) then let me know what did happen.

Also, what is the stress with non compliant vehicles...we have featured many throughout the show and some driven by kids as young as ten...there are many facets of 4wheeling and we are fortunate that clubs like the Suzie club support and encourage a diversity of vehicles...tourers to extremes...it's all a part of this fantastic pursuit. Remember there is a time and place for everything...and a particular cappucino dancing on it's front wheels down hill (on private property) would make great viewing...as would a recreational snow trip!
