Snorkel on a coily

Post by Impulsive »

Hi guys,

I've just done search and kinda not come up with anything useful on this, so I'd appreciate your help.

I have a snorkel that was on a 93 model car, but I want to fit it to a coily. The air inlet hose comes back to the same place, ie; behind the battery inside the guard, but in the coily models, the side marker (indicator) lamps are re-placed in a position at the upper rear of the front guard as well. That means that the snorkel basically needs to go thru the guard at the point where the indicator lens is!!

What have u guys done about this (ie; relocate the side indicator), and/or is there a special snorkel model for the coily model?

Thanks in advance,

Adam

I'd make the suggestion of punching a hole through the firewall for a pod filter but last time that started a bit of a tiff.

Perhaps a different front guard/clip is the go???

Of just mount the snorkel higher and relocate the batter or something, post some pics with the snorkel held up to the vehicle.

all the panels forward of the screen are different on the coily, all the coilies with snorks that i have seen go thru the indicator hole and you relocate a new one to the front.

i have my air intake thru the firewall

Thanks Sam,

That's the explanation I was kinda expecting to hear, but just wanted to confirm.

I have a snorkel that goes through the indicator hole and you have to relocate the blinker to just below the snorkel.

It was very easy to do ....... :)

we fitted a early leaf sprung side indicator to the og coily mounting point...it is a lot lower profile compared to the coily one....the snorkel just covered the corner of it.....

Snorkel stuff...

OK, that's a good call too. You're right, the coily indicators are rather, ummm, obvious.

Thanks guys.
