Just got back from Rover Park sorting out the courses and basically all I can say is fawkin unbelievable.

The climbs and decents are totally insane - way harder than absolutely anything that I have driven or seen driven in Australia. This stuff will totally spin you guys out.

Link is putting together a clip of some of the action and hopefull will post it this week.

Spoke to Greg a couple of hours ago & he said Beebee still drove it home.
Cracked the windscreen, bent a few things. Sure he will give us all a damage report later :P

Well it has already been said before - but it was a truely awesome weekend!

Everybody there (including the drivers) were amazed at what was driven. The area chosen will provide for a TRUELY AWESOME experience for all spectators. The viewing area is like an IMAX theatre where you look straight at all the action happening in front of you.

As for me - I found out that my rig doesn't work well on angles whether they be up or down  When going up the carby overfuels, going down it runs out of petrol and if you hit the breaks whilst going down it ends up on its side. All part of the R&D.

The damage report is as follows from front to rear.....
Hydro steering ram ripped off diff housing
Underbelly bash plate almost falling off
Small dent in passenger's guard
Cracked windscreen from landing on rock
Smallish dent in roof where I rolled over a rock
Larger bend in roof brace where I also landed on a rock and a dint in the shape of the brace in the roof
Aluminium tray buckled/twisted
Chassis bent from the rear of the cab back by about 2-3" by the looks of the things ie location of diff in relation to chassis rail
Chassis also possibly bent down slightly at rear left - maybe 1"

But it's all fixable. Vehicle still drives fine just looks a little weird. It may be time to cut more off the rear of the chassis so it looks less crooked ;) I'm over that tray anyway. At least the cage did it 's job. Especially the stinger bar.......

Looking forward to EFI, possibly turbo, new hydro steering ram and hydro rear suspension before the real comp.

Warning to all competitors - This will be the hardest rockcrawling competition in Australia so be prepared
Message to all spectators - This comp will provide really entertaining driving with non-stop action so don't miss it! I don't believe you'll find a better showcase of the sport anywhere this side of the equator :D

Yes, a 2wd can access the park and camping grounds, the comp site is only 300-400m away from the camp site!

The track in was very dust and i would imagine it would be fun going up one or two hills in a 2wd, however hans and heidi drive there car in all the time! Also the old f-truck got up the hills towing a buggy (2wd f-truck) so it should be fine!

When would you be coming up??? As i am sure you would be able to get a lift from someone coming from Brissie!!!!!!!

Ben(hypolux) and Sarah(Dragon Lady who yells a lot :D ) drove to the camping grounds in a mid 90's Barina and at the time it was pissing with rain. It is only a 5 min walk from the furthest area of the camping ground to the competition area. So all amenaties are very close.
