Series IIA SWB Rebuild...need volunteer help! (Sydney)

Post by Tikirocker »

G'day all...

I'm currently rebuilding my 64 SIIA 88 and while I have it stripped to the chassis right now there are a couple of jobs coming up that I don't have any expertise in and need a Landy enthusiasts help with.

What you ask? Well two things...

1# I need someone who can do the wiring...I'm going to buy a new vintage loom from Vintage Looms in NSW but I need someone with experience to put it together for me..I will be there as shitkicker ofcourse to help out. I also need someone who knows enough to be able to make a few add on's possible...like second battery etc...

2# I need someone...doesn't have the be the same person, who has some good welding experience and a bit of gear. If not I can arrange to hire some gear. The job isn't big but would just mean a small patch job on the rear cross member.

I'm pretty much cool with most everything else but ofcourse since this is the first time I've ever had anything to do with rebuilding a vehicle, advice and help on other jobs are always apreciated. I've got all the manuals and most tools required.

I am located in the Blue mtns up Katoomba way, so if anyone has the free time and the inclination I really need a hand in those area's and would be grateful. You can mail me at psi_fan@yahoo.com also.

Thanks... Simon

Heres my truck as it is now...

Hey Das!

Great to see your still kicking on... how's that hybrid of yours going? Did you ever get that D90 you wanted up and running? I'm really glad you will be able to help me out. I just need the go ahead from somebody who knows wiring pretty well so I can safely just pull out all the existing wiring and take the firewall off without having to tip toe around the wiring as it is now.

3 weeks sounds fine actually... I'll give everything a good soak in wd40 in the meantime. I've got a few questions about where to take the cappings and maybe the firewall for re-galving also. Are you still at your old phone number at Wenty? It might be easier if I give you a call?

By the way... what do you think about my post below regarding the springs?

Talk soon! ;) Simon
